Sabbath
Finally, a day of rest.
It's a rare sunny day. Very tempted to hit the waters but my back still hurts.
I'm feeling very lousy and grouchy these days due to the severe lack or should I say zilch exercise done.
I have not been doing any running or gym since the year started with my sprained back.
According to the doc, back injuries takes a while to recover from. Well done.
Meanwhile, I would have to content with my amorphous frame for CNY.
As promised, pictures of the PS (Phony Shang).
The view outside my window. It reminds me of home. Looks like the esplanade with the thorn-windows closed.
Where I spent 10 days bunking in...
The bed on the left is my designated work bed (with my laptop pls!) and the one on the right is the designated slumber bed.
It was a bumpy flight there...rough weather and turbulence.
My preferred in-flight entertainment:
Quick update, the Tai-Chi Master is quitting the sect!!!! WHoooopies!!!
Enjoy the warmth of the family reunion this CNY!
Temporal Bliss
Life's been treating me pretty well here...
Feels like a holiday although its a work trip. But I guess anything other than the work pattern in S'pore is a luxury.
We're putting up at the Shang... doesn't feel like one though. Its like a phony Shang...you will get what I mean when I post the pictures up.
Just settling down after supper with the team. Have work to catch up on tonight...but we're starting late tmw...so I can sleep in.
It takes some getting used to sleeping on a king size bed alone...and having the whole room to yourself. I'm missing the trips I take with the girls where we always have connecting rooms and the "accounting" session at the end of the day on one of the beds.
The silence and space makes lonliness even more stark.
The engagement team is great...an all girls ensemble. Its good that everyone is very supportive and helpful. At long last, a reprieve from the horror the past few months.
Gotta get started on my work...
Miss you love.
At the PEAK
When they say: "wait till you experience the PEAK", I didn't really grasp the enormity of that sentence.
I do now.
It means surviving on only 4 hours of sleep each day.
It means working on Saturdays and Sundays....including Public Holidays.
It means forfeiting your MC even though your doctor instructed you to rest.
In a nutshell : I HATE MY JOB.
Not that many don't already know I dislike it right from the start...and not that it pays so well that all I'm suffering is worth it.
Why then do so many graduates still torment themselves and get into this line???
The last I checked, all my kolics' morale are at a all time low. Suicidal nicks replace the once festive greetings on their MSN.
This job is akin to dying....including digging your own grave before that.
But death is binary. On/Off.
The work is however killing me...slowly....but surely.
My bags are packed. Jetting off for more hellish work in a foreign land.
Till den.....keep me in your prayers please.
Its a Wrap!
I spent my NYE at the A&E department. How interesting.
Had a sprained back. Thank God its not a slipped disc though...
Dearie was sweet enough to stay in with me...skipping the party at Fullerton we were suppose to attend. He was looking forward to it so much...now I feel bad about it.
On to happier things....
The Christmas pictures from SpunkIce as promised:
Grocery shopping
Which would be cheaper? Gobi or Sahara?
Didn't they say too many cooks will spoil the broth? But none of us is a true cook!
What a spread!
HUNGRY!!!
Christmas exchange
The Receiver and the Giver
The pioneer crepe. A failed attempt as evident from the burnt edges.
Doesn't it resemble a ram??
The camera was maxed out of memory space...so we couldn't take pictures of the perfectly browned and round crepes we made thereafter!
Friends Forever!
Darevurls, you were greatly missed!
