there are really some idoits who just gets on my nerve. Below is an excerpt of an email "conversation" I had with a buyer on the auction.
Me:
Hi, thanks for bidding for my item. Collection would be at boonlay, specifically NTU. Pls do let me know of your preferred collection date and method. Thanks.
idoit:
can i meet u in town. coz i living in punggol and no transport. weekday from 12-2 and 6-6.15. no meeet up at week ends. and pls bring the wire of the radio along. thanks
Me:
Hey, ure in luck...i live in punggol too...however, if you want to collect from me at punggol, you would have to wait till after 8 MAy when i'm moving back home from hostel. I would be moving all my stuff back home...so can bring the radio along. But if you need it really urgently, den i'm sorry you would have to come collect it from boon lay cos i would not be leaving sch till after 8 may when my exams ends. Let me know yah.thanks.
Regards
idoit:
Somerset mrt during weekday from 12-2 and 6-6.15, is it possible??
me:
sorry, but i think i have stated very clearly that meet ups would only be at boon lay(before the 8th may) or punggol/sengkang, definitely not anywhere else. Please understand. Let me know. thanks.
regards
idoit:Pls refer to your auction that the venue to meet up is not stated. And I'm requesting to meet at somerset.
Me:
It is an understanding that meet ups would strictly be at the convenience of the seller. Look at all the other auctions, no one practices such philantrophy as to go all the way out to transact, furthermore this is not a small item. So, based on induction, or the history of precedence combined with some basic understanding of the human nature, you should know that rational human beings do not do such things which does not bring added utils but only more trouble. Also, you should have clarified with me the point of pick up by asking me before bidding. And if you have had that common instincts, you would have seen the PAST QUESTIONS ASKED and i answered saying very explicitely in fact that it is NTU. Going to boon lay to meet you is already a act of altruism on my part, I could have insisted you come right in to the obscure university campus to collect your item. If it is inconvenient for you, I can always arrange for courier service at your cost.
regards
Idoit:
Thanks for your nice long compo. But me being a seller as well, i do travel
>to me buyer. So i dun no where all ur logic came from. If u think u are
>doing me a favour, too bad it doesnt work this way.
Me:
You are welcome. And anyway, its not a composition. Its no wonder your perception is so warped. I wish the points I pointed out in my previous mail are my logic, but its not, otherwise I would be some nodel laurette today. If you are interested, you could go to a reputable library and read up on Michael Jensen's journal articles to understand more about human psycology. But really, these common sensical knowledge need not be taught, it is innate in all of us.
Yah, you can condem me to hell for all i care, but ask anyone and they would clearly and undoubtedly tell you who is the unreasonable one here. I seriously doubt it when I read comments about you being a "smooth" seller and i'm rather aghast as to why you being a relatively seasoned user of the auctions is still so unfamiliar with the ethics of auctioning. Obviously, I would not want to deal with you. So, my choice of somerset or not...it will be N.O.T
I have nothing to lose. Of course you would give me a negative rating. Its only human. Go ahead and slander me with all your angst.
A learning point which you SHOULD derive from this debacle is that you should always ask the seller any questions before bidding.
However, Its heartening to know that in this narcissistic world, there still exsist such benevolent souls, keep it up and do extend your congenial nature to other purposes yah. Spread the love... perhaps it will infect the whole world before the End comes.
