Gastronomia
The weekend is coming to an end. Tomorrow the toil starts again.
Tough week ahead.
Typing with a bruised finger. Got it from the netball games @ yesterday's Corporate Challenge.
Caught up with my old coach there. She has certainly aged a lot since the days when I was still a teeny booper under her training.
But it is heartening to still know she's still playing/coaching the game. It certainly gives no excuse to people of my age who complain of rusty bones and aching joints.
No pictures from all the games....cos' we were really tired out! Totally unglam for picture whoring.
We didn't win the Corporate Challenge Tournament.
I'm not being sour, but people in our profession really do not have the time and luxury to train like the other companies do.
They hire professional coaches and train once every week.
We just do it in the name of fun. It's a welcoming reprieve from our work.
But I can proudly say it was only the first time my team didn't walk away as champions!
My team came in champs for last Sat's inter-unit competition!
All these games are good training for the upcoming tournament to come. And of course good opportunities to built team rapport.
Just when I thought I can finally intensify on my skin whitening attempts and go for a fresh pedicure and manicure, the team captain has announced that we are starting training for CPA games next month...
Random pictures from the previous weekends. Incidentally, I spent two consecutive weekend evenings at Holland Village (HV). One can never get sick of the many fine eateries that place has to offer.
We went Mexican yesterday. Al Patio restaurant (across Gelare; diagonal to Wala) at Lorong Mambong (a.k.a HV).
Highly recommended!! Ambience can be improved. But when you get a whiff of the bbq meat on the hotplates, the ambience would be the last thing on your mind.
The many faces of contentment:
We started with a "reverse pizza". I can't remember the real name of that starter. But essentially, its like a pizza except the meat and other fillings were INSIDE.
Main course was like a popiah session of sorts. The beef, lamp, and chicken on hotplates have to be wrapped in the light and fluffy chapatti looking skin.
A little bit of hands on...but I'm not complaining.
It doesn't look like it, but we were freezing our asses off in Eski Bar decked out in berms and capris:
The only bag that he would sling on his shoulders. Argh....He's such a chauvinist.
Did you know that the Ikea restaurant now has staff allocating the seats and you would have to queue to get in?
No more rude stares from hungry people waiting for your table!
I can't wait for this hellish work period to be over. Trying very hard to save (what's left of) my bonus for the shopping madness in the Great Hong Kong Sale come August.
Takes a lot of restrain. But I must!
Signing off with a picture from a couple of weeks back. Thanks for the prezzie girls!
