I'M "OUT OF TOWN"
Not answering any calls with a 6213 prefix till next year.
Caught Corrinne May in concert last Saturday @ the Esplanade. It was her Christmas concert. I won't take anything away from her singing...cos she's wonderful as it is, but she does need to put in more work on her showmanship.
She didn't really connect with the audience and it doesn't help that I was seated in the circle seat! (The picture taken shows my view from my seat) :(
Her Christmas stories were rather predictable...and the introduction to each song had a very weak link to the song itself.
Kudos to her for the subtle evangelism...but I wonder how many in the audience could fully grasp the meaning of the song titled Five Loaves and Two Fishes.
It was an enjoyable evening nonetheless. We went for wine @ Barfly after the concert. It's been a while since we have actually done the whole date thingy after all these years...
Checked out the new clubs at The Cannary with my "best-est" kolics (my apologies for sounding so juvenile!) on Friday (and Sat as mentioned above). Its probably a blessing in disguise we had to work late...cos entry was free to the whole stretch of clubs after 10pm.
We got a nice spot outside Fashion Bar and talked the whole night through. Thirst quenched of cos by the free flow of drinks that evening. :)
And being the opening night, there were many who dressed up befitting to the occasion...which bodes well for us cause we had a great time people watching scrutinizing too!
Countless number of fashion faux paus. The people that follow fashion sooooo blindly...its exasperating.
I finally got a chance to be in office for lunch on Friday last week.....so with Shopaholic, we had sandwich at Pret a Manger.
The mushroom soup is a MUST-TRY! Ironically, the sandwich is just mediocre. Granted the varieties are aplenty, but the serving is rather pathetic. Would a full fledged grown up man be full with just 2 slices of bread?!?
The two of us looked around the whole place and noticed no one had TWO servings of sandwiches...and being the very bashful and society-conforming ladies we are, we each had only 1 serving of sandwich too!
Supplemented with soup of cos.
Shopaholic had to have soya bean during teatime to quell her hunger...
I've not gotten so many Christmas presents for friends and exchanges...but I'm not exactly keen on thronging with the Orchard crowd to get them. Hopefully, going on a weekday would alleviate some of the madness.
I chanced upon a interesting, albeit useless, Christmas gift idea in a chocolate shop @ Vivo.
A chocolate shavings maker!
I'm just not into such an atas way of eating chocolate. It's the good ol' munching and savouring for me.
The new year is coming....
Let's recapture the magic yah?
